Freedom of expression index (IDEA)

The Freedom of Expression Index (IDEA), developed by the International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance (International IDEA), assesses the level of freedom individuals and the media have to express their views and disseminate information without censorship or retribution in different countries. This index examines factors such as the independence of media, the legal environment protecting speech and press freedoms, and the actual practice of these freedoms within the society.
