This infographic presents key insights from a 2024 survey in semi-rural and rural Ethiopia by Shega under the AKOFADA project. The findings reveal that mobile-based services (mobile money and mobile banking) dominate public knowledge, compared to internet banking. Traditional media remain the leading information channels, television and radio, followed by word-of-mouth from friends and family. In terms of use cases, digital payments are the most recognized service. Overall, the infographic underscores that while foundational DFS concepts are gaining traction through media exposure, more advanced financial products have yet to be well recognized and make a significant impact in these communities.
