This report explores the potential benefits and applicability of a unified payment app in Ethiopia that aggregates all financial accounts, in addition to the need for multiple standalone applications, and aims to inspire innovators or providers to develop the solution. The primary target audiences for this use case report are regulators, Switches, fintech companies, payment system operators, technology service providers, and innovators. By addressing the fragmentation in mobile banking and other payment services, a unified app could potentially improve the user experience, efficiency of digital transactions in Ethiopia that could lead to better financial inclusion, literacy and adoption. A unified payment app would streamline financial transactions by integrating multiple bank accounts into a single platform.
